It’s not bad at all. Its billed as American Ninja warrior but with cars...which is EXACTLY as my 8 year old called it last night when we were watching it.

Its not overly dramatic, only mildly cheesy and highly watchable. Even the car part is surprisingly non-terrible. Its got the real ups and downs of real cars and real drivers. Not overly synthesized and produced like I had feared.

Its good.  I hope it keeps going.

I watched a couple episodes with my 8 year old son and we liked it too. I was worried at the very beginning, but it's pretty fun. And it's nice to find stuff like that I can watch with my son and not feel like he's hearing things he doesn't need to.

I saw it on the list yesterday, instead watched ep.1 of WU assassian.....which seems to be getting a bit super hero/villianish but ill have to give that a shot. I passed, worried it was exactly what you said...overbaked.

They lay it on thick with some of the bios but thats just filling time between laps and to add a human element.  The story of the girl from south africa was legit.

I’m about halfway through. So far I’m enjoying it. If there’s a second season I hope they do some off road/dirt events in the daylight instead of every car being bathed in neon underglow in the pitch black

Thats what my wife said.  It looks like they’ve invested pretty heavily in the industrial park set, which...by my guess...is only available at night.

Nice, we ’ll have to check it out.. So far my sons favourite is watching rally crash vids on youtube with me..

We used to watch Canada’s worst driver, but it gets pretty old watching terrible people being terrible a t things.

Made it through the first contestant and gave up. Too overwrought for my taste. I just want to know about their cars and to watch them drive. I do not care at all about their motivations or stories. The hosts, Rut aside, are useless pretty faces.

If they had included details about their chosen rides along with their personal stories, or as they are introduced I would be more interested. But I do not recall hearing much beyond Rut saying something about the Nissan S-chassis being fast and light. Nothing about what engine it was running, transmission to go along said engine, boost, etc.

This probably just means that I am not the target audience for this show as I rarely care to watch ‘reality tv’ contests.

I see that side of it, and I understand where you’re coming from, but there is already a show like that and its called best motoring.  This is a mass appeal car show which, honestly, we need more of.  The fact that its not “reality TV” level drama and actually focuses on driving skill is pretty good to me.  A little more car stat would be nice though, if for nothing else that to educate the lay person on cars like video games have.

Wu assassin is alright. Some of it is pretty cheesy but I’ve been sticking with it. Still not sure my thoughts on it

CWD is absolutely my addiction right now. Boring crap is right up my alley. lol

I hate how American car shows almost always have to feel like they’re super scripted and flashy with often completely made up stakes. Or maybe even more annoying, taking something serious and turning it into a game show. See: America’s Worst Driver.

I stumbled upon Canada’s Worst Driver completely randomly while watching music mashups and have been hooked since. I’ve been working backwards from 14 to 1 (unintentionally, as the first episode I discovered was S14E04) . Watched Binged   Marathoned seasons 14 down to 4 in like the past two weeks or so. Starting season 3 within an hour or so. lol Working backwards is interesting, you can see how they changed their challenges and even teaching methods.

I even got my girlfriend hooked enough on it that our inside jokes/digs with one another are like “Miss Elise knows where her wheels are” and “Mercedes...can’t park a trailer ” (it was ONE time, love! ) , “Look where you want to go”, and other weirdo stuff. lol

We got bored of the types, the ditsy girl who does her makeup, the internationals, the timid wife who never learned to drive.

My favourites are the young guys who thought they were FnF, lol - the first slalom and they were in the weeds..

Ooh wasn’t this the dude that got someone else a DUI by lying about his identity? I wondered what happened to him. Christ...

One thing I noticed about the later seasons is that some of the challenges are awfully close to the exact tests I had to do to pass the MSF course, just with more speed .

Funny enough, I admittedly did learn some stuff from CWD. Back when I learned how to drive, my instructor was like “adjust your seat so your arms are at a 45 degree angle” with no further guidance on seating position . Thankfully he was pretty awesome with teaching defensive driving.

So I kinda just figured things out on my own. It was interesting to learn that what I figured was a safe seating position was exactly correct.

It was also fun to learn how to properly do donuts, reverse 180s, and   handbrake turns.   All this time I never thought to do a small turn before the execution to shift weight. D’oh!

I’m really loving this. I feared it’d be like any other car/garage show on TV, full of overblown ego’s that are about to start a fight each episode.

I understand the whole narrative, I understand they didn’t want to dig deeper into the car stats and everything. I also understand the choices for the hosts. Let’s face it, not only car-people watch Netflix.
